FIELD PROJECT
FIELD Project 2022-2023 Case Study Brief
From its founding in 2014 to 2020, INLAND was exclusively an in-person
popup event that brought together over 80 Canadian fashion brands and
thousands of Toronto-based shoppers each spring and fall. During the
pandemic, INLAND launched an online, multi-vendor dropship marketplace
enabling shoppers everywhere to discover and shop Canadian made
apparel and accessories every day.
INLAND wants to expand its customer base nationally, acquire new,
younger customers, while leveraging the status of the Canadian fashion
through various partnerships, digital channels (specifically Instagram,
TikTok and Pinterest), and unique activations. Focusing on local
production, sustainable small-batch collections, authentic storytelling,
how can INLAND achieve its mission to become the go-to shop
contemporary Canadian fashion platform or retailer.
FIELD (Fashion Industry Educational Exchange and Leadership Development) is a unique collaboration between the fashion industry and graduating students of Seneca’s Fashion Business Management Advanced Diploma program.

Each year, student teams partner with a fashion industry client who challenges them to assist with a real-life business opportunity.

Student teams apply their knowledge gained in their final year of study to develop strategic and creative solutions for the ‘client’. They present a summary of their findings to the industry partner and a panel of industry judges at the FIELD gala event and a winning team is chosen.
